The routes are a mixture of tarmac section and jungle section for all categories with additional gravel section for 50km and 100km categories. All categories will traverse through Mount Jasar (1684 meters) while the 25km, 50km and 100km categories will also traverse through Mount Berembun (1825 meters).
On jungle section, expect trails to be technical, covered with tree roots, slippery, high steps, steep ascends and descends and several rolling hills. We highly recommend trail shoes with high traction for this section. Gravel section consist of hard compound surface and are generally in the open with no canopy.
We recommend high cushioning shoes for this section. Runners are encouraged to utilise the Special Needs Bag check points to switch between shoes. At Parit Falls and Robinson Falls, expect slippery brick trails due to the accumulation of moss. At least a third of the route will be on tarmac road. Runners should be cautious of vehicles as the road is still accessible by the public and hence are required to follow marshal directions at all times. The route map, location of check points and elevation chart for all race categories can be found in the next section.
